2004 - Present | 1959 VW Beetle | Metal

  Starting with 1959 VW Beetle, everything has been modified in one form or another in this (ongoing) project. Most modifications has been made mostly by rearranging   donor parts from numerous cars. The roof has been lowered (chopped top), a body section has been deleted hozitonally (sectioned), body remounted lower instead of   modifying the suspension for a smoother ride (channelled), body remounted 10" back to give the illusion of an extended front axle, door angles tilted back, doors   reshaped, hinged relocated (suicide doors), dash customized using a modified 40's Ford dash, rear section reshaped using a front hood of another Beetle, hinged   window frames fabricated to open (safari windshield), roof modified, etc etc...

  With no prior experience, I was able to do major modifications on this all metal project using mostly only my welder and angle grinder. Wanting to influence others who   are afraid to do major metal work themselves, a website was created to help guide other hobbyists at www.RuntRod.com
